Tony Gee won the design contract for the wheel foundation, brows and temporary foundation with the Contractor as part of a design and build contract for this award winning landmark in Central London.

The erection scheme proposed - to assemble the wheel horizontally over the River Thames - would impose enormous forces on the foundation as the wheel is reared up to its operation position.  A fast track approach was required to ensure early completion of this prestigious project.  Tony Gee's role included design development ensuring the clients needs for cost certainty and completion on time were achieved.
