Phased improvement programme to fully restore Deal Pier structure and buildings to ensure that the future of the Pier is safeguarded.

Deal Pier was constructed in the 1950s and comprises concrete encased castellated steel beams supporting a reinforced concrete deck. Piled foundations are of steel tube encased in concrete. Significant deterioration has occurred as a result of the maritime environment.

Tony Gee and Partners were employed by John Martin Construction to assess and report on the structural adequacy of the existing deck to enable the refurbishment operations to be completed.
