The Environment Agency (EA) is currently engaged in a programme of replacing the existing timber lock gates on the Thames with steel gates. Tony Gee and Partners has been retained by the EA to carry out the detailed design of the new gates at Shepperton Lock, and to provide site supervision during construction.
The new steel gates have been installed successfully in time to allow pleasure boats, official support and hospitality launches to pass through for the Oxford & Cambridge Boat Race on Sunday 2nd April.
The Shepperton scheme is one of 11 major navigation structure projects on the Thames this winter, totalling £5M of investment.
