Senior/Principal Rail Earthworks Engineer

Esher Office, Surrey

 

Tony Gee and Partners carries out a large amount of earthworks stabilisation design works on the railway infrastructure. Over the past five years over 150 remediation schemes have been prepared for embankments, rock and soil cuttings, sea cliffs and drainage works. This work requires an integrated understanding of geotechnical engineering and the railway infrastructure.

The senior/principal rail earthworks engineer is expected to be a chartered engineer with earthworks and rail experience who will be responsible for managing all the rail earthwork remediation work from the head office in Esher, Surrey. The engineer will work within the rail group, reporting to the rail group director and co-ordinating with the geotechnical group director and other senior staff working on rail earthworks in the regional offices.  The engineer will be able to gain support from the substantial geotechnical team in the Esher office.

The candidate will be responsible for design and management of the projects including client liaison and tendering for projects with a view to expanding this work from the Esher office.  The main sources of work would relate to the southern territory working directly with Network Rail and their framework contractors.  The engineer would be a fully integrated member of the rail team and would be expected to train graduate engineers within the multi-disciplinary environment.
